Sarah Winchester bought a farmhouse here in 1886 and kept adding to it until her death in 1922, rebuilding and abandoning rooms until the house became a maze. It opened to visitors nine months after she died. (Wikipedia)

Santana Row, named for planning commissioner Frank M. Santana, was built in 2001-2002 on the site of the Town and Country Village shopping center, where the first Chuck E. Cheese’s opened in 1977. (Wikipedia)

Most homes in West San Jose were built in the 1950s; Westfield Valley Fair and the old Century 21 theater are nearby landmarks. (Wikipedia)
